Menuki

Menuki are the easily overlooked but artistically critical ornaments that are tucked underneath the wrapping of the handle. These small pieces are often incredibly detailed and wrought with precious materials, crafted with the same passion, love, and pursuit of perfection found in any other piece of the blade despite them often being hidden away underneath silk. These are always a matched pair, with complementary images on either. Single menuki are orphaned, but ready to be paired with a new piece or enjoyed alone.
