This gorgeous piece is a stout, full sized sukashi iron tsuba with a circling Myoga (Ginger) motif. The wings are inlaid with strips of brass, bold in execution and finely detailed. The iron is in great shape and would be a handsome functional mount. The natural motif and style of this piece indicate it could be as old as late 1400's, from Oonin-era. Box included.
