This tanto tsuba is forged from solid copper and later finished with subtle hand-polishing. The surface bears natural marks from age and use, with darker toning around the nakago-ana and inner rim, likely from prolonged mounting. No active corrosion is visible, though there are small surface irregularities consistent with a centuries-old utilitarian piece. The copper plate has been worked thin, creating a light, well-balanced guard that would have provided both protection and graceful aesthetic harmony with a matching koshirae.
