This very handsome tsuka is complete, period, and in great condition. The tsuka shows the waxy patina of being held for many years, and the maki is still as tight and strong as ever. The fuchi depicts intricate five pointed stars and shapes executed in extremely fine gold inlay, with a simpler plain kashira. The wrap is in tsumami-maki style, with menuki depicting leaves and stalks of millet. The samegawa is very high quality, and has a fantastic aged coloration to a strong amber. Very much a piece worthy of preservation.
