Collection: Kozuka

The kozuka is a small handle mounted to a kogatana (everyday utility side knife) that were carried by samurai. These kozuka are fairly uniform in size, allowing them to fit many kogatana blades and fit in a majority of sheath side pockets. As with all aspects of Japanese swords, these extra fittings provide an opportunity for smiths to show off an artistic flourish while producing a practical product.
